Air fryer teriyaki salmon is the best fast and tasty meal! The salmon cooks up perfectly tender with crisp edges, then gets coated in a glossy, sweet-and-savory teriyaki glaze that I know you’ll love!

Plated air fryer teriyaki salmon filet on a bed of white rice and a side of green beans.

Why This Needs to Be on Your Menu Tonight

  • Dinner in 30 (Yes, Really!): You can have a delicious high-protein meal that you feel good about in just 30 minutes!
  • Sticky, Saucy, Perfect: That glossy teriyaki glaze clings to every bite of the salmon so you get sweet-savory goodness all the way through.
  • Your New Dinner Hero: Whether it’s a crazy weeknight, a Sunday meal prep session, or date night at home, this recipe fits the vibe!

Ingredients for Air Fryer Teriyaki Salmon

  • Ginger: I love using ginger paste because it’s so easy! Grated fresh ginger works great as well!
  • Soy Sauce: Low-sodium soy sauce works great.

How to Make Air Fryer Teriyaki Salmon

Ready for a weeknight win? Follow these simple steps to get perfectly glazed, tender salmon. Serve it with rice, stir-fried veggies, or even a refreshing cucumber salad.

  1. Make the Sauce: In a medium-sized saucepan, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, sesame oil, and ginger. Heat over medium-high heat and bring it to a simmer.
  2. Thicken the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the water and cornstarch, then add it to the saucepan. Whisk the sauce constantly until it starts to thicken. Remove it from the heat and reserve half of the sauce for serving.
  3. Prep the Salmon: Lightly spray the inside of the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Pat the salmon filets dry with a paper towel, then place them skin-side down in the basket.
  4. Cook Salmon and Serve: Brush the teriyaki sauce on each filet, then air fry salmon at 390ºF for 7-10 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 145ºF, and the salmon should flake easily with a fork. Brush the reserved teriyaki sauce on the filets before serving, and top with chopped green onion and sesame seeds for garnish.

I’m obsessed with salmon, and this Mango Salsa Salmon might be my new favorite! It’s quick, flavorful, and my kids will actually eat it! The fresh salsa is so good!

Dinner Just Got a Glow-Up

  • The Mango Salsa is TO DIE FOR: The sweet and spicy mango salsa is so beautiful, and it turns simple salmon into something you could get on a tropical vacation!
  • Quick and Healthy: It’s ready in less than 30 minutes, but tastes like a restaurant special.
  • Light & Bright Flavor: The sweet, citrusy mango brightens up the rich, flaky salmon in the best way. Make Mango Chicken next for the same bright taste!

Mango Salsa Salmon Ingredients

Overhead shot of labeled salmon ingredients.
  • Salmon: I usually buy the large, single salmon fillet from Costco — it’s cheaper than pre-cut portions and gives me 6–8 servings to use for different salmon meals all week.
Overhead shot of mango salsa ingredients.
  • Mangos: Make sure your mangos are ripe and sweet. They should give slightly when pressed and smell fruity at the stem. Buy your mangos a few days ahead if needed.

How to Make Mango Salsa Salmon

There’s just something magical about seafood paired with fruit salsa. I based this off my 5-minute mango salsa recipe, and pairing it with salmon takes things to a whole new level.

  1. Mix the Spice Blend: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Make the Salsa: In a large bowl, add the diced ripe mango, red onion, red bell pepper, jalapeño, fresh lime juice, fresh chopped cilantro, and salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
  3. Prep Salmon to Cook: Brush the salmon filets with the lime juice and rub with the seasoning mixture.
  4. Pan Sear: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the prepared salmon to the skillet skin side down. Cook for 5 minutes, then gently flip it over and cook for another 5 minutes. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit and it flakes easily with a fork. Remove the cooked salmon from the skillet, then top it with the mango salsa and serve over rice.

Grilling Instructions

If you’d like to grill the salmon, prepare it as the recipe suggests. Make a foil boat for each salmon filet. Preheat the grill to 450ºF and grill the fish for 10-12 minutes until it is opaque. Use a meat thermometer to know when it reaches a temperature of 140-145ºF.

How to Store Leftovers

  • In the Refrigerator: Store leftover mango salsa salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • To Freeze: I don’t recommend freezing this recipe; it’s best enjoyed fresh or refrigerated.

Air Fryer Cod will change the way you eat fish! Crispy golden outside and flakey tender inside. It’s the perfect choice for dinner with its light, mild flavor! Everyone in the family will love it!

Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Easy to Make: This air-fryer cod is perfect for busy weeknights or a nice weekend dinner. Serve it with some rice, vegetables, potatoes, or salad.
  • Air Fryer Perfection: Air frying fish is one of the best ways to cook this delicate, tender meat.  The air-fryer basket is perfect because it allows the circulating air to cook the outside and the inside while keeping the fish intact.
  • Seafood Lovers: We love fish at our house, especially when it tastes this amazing! More favorites include Fish and Chips, Baja Tacos, and Salmon.

Crispy Parmesan Air Fryer Cod

You guys have to believe me when I say that cooking fish in an air fryer is an absolute revelation. The way the hot air circulates around the entire fillet makes for the most crispy, crunchy texture! It’s everything you love without the fat from frying in oil. Make some homemade creamy lemon dill sauce, and it’s game over!

Ingredients Needed

Making Crispy Air Fryer Cod

This super easy air fryer cod recipe is going to become a family favorite. Simply bread the fillets and stick them in the air fryer. The air fryer makes them so crispy and delicious!

  1. Season: Season the cod filets with salt and pepper to taste on both sides.
  2. Coat in Flour: Create a breading station for the cod by gathering three bowls. Add the flour to the first bowl. Dip each cod filet in the flour first.
  3. Dip in Egg Mixture: Whisk together the eggs and salt in the second bowl. Then, dip the floured filet in the egg mixture.
  4. Coat in Panko Mixture: Combine the panko bread crumbs, grated parmesan cheese, old bay seasoning, and garlic powder in the third bowl, then dip each egg-coated filet in the panko mixture.
  5. Air Fry: Spray the bottom of your basket with olive oil spray then place the breaded filets in the basket of the air fryer. Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. Carefully flip the fish and continue to cook for 3-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Serve your air fryer cod with tartar sauce, yum yum sauce, or a fresh squeeze of lemon juice.

Tips For Breading

Breading any food can be messy. Here is a surefire way to at least keep it manageable.

  1. Wet hand: With one hand, dip the cod into the flour mixture and coat evenly. Then, using the same hand, dip it into the egg mixture and shake off any excess egg. Then, drop into the panko mixture.
  2. Dry Hand:  With your other dry hand, press the panko evenly onto the cod, making sure it sticks. Take your time to coat it well so you get that perfect crispy crust! Then, you place it in the air fryer basket and repeat.
Cooked cod in the air fryer with wedges of lemon.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Cod

  • What if I don’t have an air fryer? If you don’t have an air fryer, this bakes up perfectly in the oven! Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. Carefully flip the fish. Continue to cook for 3-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Don’t Over-Crowd: Give the fish space to breathe. If they are too close together, they will steam instead of “fry,” and they won’t get crispy.
  • Can I use frozen Cod? Use good quality cod fillets. Fresh or frozen is fine. You don’t want them too thin, or the fish won’t have time to crisp up before it starts to dry out. Thaw frozen cod according to package directions. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove any extra moisture. This will help the crust crisp nicely.
  • Can I spray the fish with a cooking oil? Using oil is optional but can help it become crispy. Use an oil-only spray. Do not use a non-stick spray, such as Pam. They have additives that will ruin your air fryer.
  • Do I have to use Panko bread crumbs? Panko bread crumbs are larger and absorb less moisture, so they will produce the best crust. Your air fryer cod will be crispy and golden. Regular breadcrumbs will not give you the same results.
  • Do I have to use Cod? This recipe works with any type of white fish and turns out amazing. Think snapper, tilapia, bass and haddock.
Upclose picture of a fork cutting into the air fryer cod.

How to Store Leftover Cod Fillets

  • Refrigerator: You can keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
  • Reheat instructions: Reheat the fillets in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes or until heated through. It won’t have the same crunchiness, but it will still be good. Crispy Air Fryer Cod is best right out of the air fryer.

Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Bursting with Flavor: Smoky, fresh, and herby with the best salmon flavor!
  • Versatile: Perfect for spreading on crackers, baguettes, or even for dipping freshly cut veggies.
  • Great for Entertaining: It’s a simple, yet elevated spread that’s sure to go quick. This is delicious served with a spread of appetizers, like stuffed mushrooms, pecan brie ball and a simple charcuterie board.
  • Make-Ahead Friendly: It tastes even better when it has had time to chill, saving you time.

Ingredients Needed

This salmon rillette recipe is one of my favorite appetizers! It’s fabulous for a variety of occasions. I especially think it makes a great holiday app or starter before a holiday dinner. If you enjoy salmon, this is a must try recipe!

  • Fresh Salmon: Brings freshness and a flaky texture.
  • Smoked Salmon: Adds a bold, smoky taste.
  • White Wine: Used to simmer the salmon to add depth and acidity.
  • Lemon Peel: Enhances the freshness and balances the richness of the spread.
  • Black Peppercorns: For a hint of spice and warmth.
  • Fresh Herbs: A combination of fresh dill, bay leaves and chopped chives give the salmon rillettes plenty of complex flavor.
  • Fresh Lemon Juice: Brightens and balances the creaminess.
  • Sour Cream: Binds the ingredients together for a smooth spread and adds a bit of tang.
  • Salt and Pepper: To taste!
  • Baguette: Slice and toast for serving.
Overhead shot of labeled ingredients.

How to Make Salmon Rillettes

Salmon rillettes is a spread that’s surprisingly simple to make. It combines fresh and smoked salmon with a handful of ingredients for an impressive yet easy spread. Just be sure and plan ahead for the necessary chill time!

  1. Simmer: Add the white wine to a large, deep skillet. Add the lemon peel, peppercorns, sprigs of dill, and bay leaves. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, giving the wine time to infuse with the flavors.
  2. Simmer, then Chill Salmon: Add the fresh salmon to the wine and simmer, stirring occasionally for just over 2 minutes, until the salmon has just barely turned opaque on all sides. Remove it from the pan, then cover, and chill for about an hour.
  3. Flake Salmon: Once the salmon has chilled, flake it gently into a medium-sized bowl.
  4. Mix Ingredients: Add the smoked salmon, minced dill, chives, lemon juice, and sour cream to the bowl with the flaked salmon.
  5. Chill for 1 Hour: Mix until combined. Cover and chill for at least an hour to let the flavors combine.

Tips for Making and Serving Salmon Rillettes

Here are several ways to make sure your salmon rillettes is perfect and just the way you like!

  • Can I blend this smooth? Sure! Add this to a food processor or blender and make a paste with it. This will turn it into salmon paté instead of salmon rillettes. Since rillettes is more of a chunky spread and paté is smooth. If that’s what you prefer, that will work just fine!
  • Don’t over cook the salmon! Let it poach in the wine just until all sides have turned opaque. This cooks the salmon enough for it to be safe to consume with the centers still being raw. It should flake very easily once it has chilled.
  • Herb Substitution: Substitute the dill for tarragon for a more licorice or anise flavor.
  • Green Onions: You can use green onions in place of the chives.
  • What kind of white wine is best? Stick with a dry white wine, such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or even champagne. You may even use the white cooking wine found in the vinegar section of grocery stores. However, a drinkable wine is preferable.
  • Sour Cream Alternative: You can use plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream. It adds a little protein and tastes similar.
  • Serving Options: Serve with crackers, crostini, pita chips, or fresh vegetables.
Overhead shot of salmon rillettes on crostini on a serving platter with fresh dill.

Storing & Serving Leftover Salmon Rillettes

This recipe is actually better when it has time to chill and let all the flavors meld. Here is how to properly store and serve it.

  • Refrigerator: Salmon rillettes may be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. For the best flavor, press plastic wrap tightly against the surface or melt some butter and pour it over the top to seal in the rillettes. You can scrape off the butter or stir it into the rillettes before serving.
  • Serve at Room Temperature: Let the rillettes sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before serving. It is best served at nearly room temperature. Just be careful to not let it sit at room temperature for longer than 2 hours.

  1. Prep: Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Place them skin side down in a large oven-safe skillet or baking sheet.
  2. Sauce Ingredients: In a small bowl, add the mayo, honey, sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, salt, and sesame seeds.
  3. Mix: Whisk the sauce ingredients together until smooth and combined.
  4. Bake: Brush or drizzle half of the bang bang sauce on the salmon filets and reserve the rest for later. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the salmon is opaque in color. Brush the salmon with the reserved sauce and broil on high for 1-2 minutes. Remove the salmon from the oven when the center reads around 135 degrees Fahrenheit. The salmon will continue to cook and should reach 145 degrees Fahrenheit before consuming.

Salmon Cooking Tips

Here are a few tips to help you nail this bang-bang salmon! You’re going to love it. It’s so irresistible.

  • Choosing the Salmon: Look for salmon with a really nice deep pink color. It is going to be flavorful and full of good nutrients. You don’t want a pale, orange, and wet-looking piece. I recommend spending a little extra on high-quality wild salmon because you can definitely taste the difference!
  • Don’t Overcook: Be careful not to overcook the salmon, or you’ll end up with dry fish. Cook it just until it’s slightly pink and flaky to keep it moist and delicious.
  • Let it Rest: Once your salmon is cooked to perfection, allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps the juices redistribute, ensuring a juicy and flavorful bite every time.
  • Bang Bang Varieties:  I love Bang Bang sauce! If you love it as well, you could try my bang bang chicken, Bonefish Grill copycat shrimp, and my favorite, bang bang shrimp tacos!

  • In the Refrigerator: Store leftover salmon in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • To Reheat: The easiest way to reheat the salmon is in the microwave until warmed through. Pop your salmon in the oven for 10 minutes or until warmed through at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Wrap the salmon in aluminum foil to keep it moist as it reheats.

A great salmon marinade makes your fish flavorful, tender, and juicy! This recipe gives each filet the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and tangy flavors.

Most of my favorite meat recipes start with a good marinade. And I love experimenting with different ingredients to create new flavors, especially during grilling season! Here are some of our go-to marinades that you’ll definitely want to try: pork chop marinadeshrimp marinade, and chicken marinade!

Salmon filets in a ziplock bag with marinade.

Reasons You’ll Love This Marinade Recipe

  • Easy to Prepare: Requires just a few simple ingredients.
  • Delicious: Delivers big flavor with minimal effort. Enjoy tender, juicy salmon that’s perfect every time.
  • Versatile: Ideal for salmon, chicken, or steak. While store-bought marinades are convenient, homemade always tastes better!

What Ingredients are in Salmon Marinade?

You’re going to love how easy this salmon marinade recipe is! It’s made with simple ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen. Just check the recipe card below for all the exact measurements.

  • Soy Sauce: Adds a savory and umami flavor to the marinade that enhances the taste of the salmon.
  • Lemon Juice: A little acidity is a must in marinades. It provides fresh flavor and also helps to tenderize the salmon.
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Ensures the marinade coats the salmon completely while adding plenty of moisture.
  • Honey: The sweetness from the honey balances the savory flavor from the soy sauce.
  • Garlic: Fresh garlic infuses the salmon with an incredible savory taste!
  • Fresh Parsley: Love adding fresh herbs for depth of flavor.
  • Salmon: This marinade makes enough to fully coat 2-3 pounds of fresh salmon.

How to Make Salmon Marinade and Cook Salmon

Homemade marinade is super simple to make! All you have to do is mix all of the ingredients, and then add everything to a large ziplock bag! Below, you’ll find instructions for making the marinade and also 4 different ways to cook your salmon:

  1. Make the Marinade: Combine all the ingredients in a large ziplock bag or a large bowl.
  2. Marinate the Fish: Add the salmon, ensuring the fish is completely covered with the marinade. Let it marinate for 30-60 minutes. Avoid letting it marinate for longer than an hour, as fish can start to break down and become mushy after too long.

Choose Your Cooking Method

  1. Air Fryer: Spray the basket of the air fryer with pan spray and place the salmon skin side down. Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes, or until the fish reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Oven: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick foil. Place the salmon skin side down on the baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the fish reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Skillet: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat before adding the salmon skin-side up. Let the salmon sear for 4-5 minutes before flipping it skin side down. Cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  4. Grill: Preheat the grill to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and either brush or spray with oil. Place the salmon skin side down for 6-8 minutes. When it is ready to flip, it should easily release with a fish spatula. Flip the fish and cook over indirect heat for 2-4 minutes, until the fish reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

Variations and Substitutions

This sweet and savory salmon marinade is a game-changer, making your fish tender and juicy with incredible flavor. Here are some easy tweaks to tailor it to your taste:

  • Switch up the Citrus: For a fun twist, try swapping the lemon juice with lime or orange juice. Each one adds its own unique zing!
  • Change the Herbs: Feel free to mix in different herbs like rosemary, thyme, cilantro, or dill. Fresh herbs are great, but if you’re using dried, go with 1 teaspoon for every tablespoon of fresh.
  • Alternative for Soy Sauce: If you need to switch out the soy sauce, go for gluten-free or low-sodium soy sauce, or try liquid aminos for a similar taste.
  • Make it Spicy: Craving some heat? Add a pinch or two (or more, if you like it hot) of crushed red pepper to spice things up.
  • Sweetener: Honey does a great job balancing the saltiness of the soy sauce, but you can swap it with brown sugar or agave. If you need to skip the sweetener, that’s okay too—just know it adds a nice touch!
The top view of salmon filets in marinade in a ziplock bag.

How to Store Salmon Marinade

You can get a head start by whipping up your marinade a day in advance. Just remember, don’t add the fish to it until about an hour before you plan to cook. If you let the fish soak for more than 60 minutes, the marinade will start to break down the fillet’s structure, leaving you with mushy fish.

  • In the Refrigerator: Your homemade marinade will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks if you keep it in an airtight container in the fridge. But be careful! Once the marinade has been in contact with raw meat or fish, you’ll need to toss it out to avoid any food safety issues.
  • In the Freezer: For longer storage, you can freeze your marinade. Just pour it into a freezer-safe ziplock bag, and it will keep for 3-6 months. When you’re ready to use it, let it thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature.

  • Filled with Bright Flavors: Fresh lemon and garlic create the best flavors combined with the smokiness of grilling. You will love the taste and texture of this fish!

What You Need to Make Grilled Tilapia

You’ll only need a handful of simple ingredients to make this super tasty grilled tilapia! They come together for tender tilapia that will rival even the best seafood restaurant! The complete list of ingredients and measurements are listed in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • Fresh Lemon Juice: Lemon adds fresh flavor to almost any grilled fish.

Top view of all of the ingredients laid out individually and labeled.

How to Make Grilled Tilapia

Tilapia is one of the easiest proteins to grill! Marinate the fish for about 30 minutes, and then grill it for less than 12 minutes. You will want to make this recipe all season long!

  1. Make the Marinade: Whisk together the lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, black pepper, salt, and mustard powder to prepare the marinade.
  2. Marinate the Fish: Pour the marinade into a large sealable bag or container and place the tilapia filets into the container. Marinate the tilapia for 30 minutes to an hour. While the filets are marinating, preheat a grill to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Grill: Once the tilapia filets are ready, remove them from the marinade. Brush the grill with olive oil and grill the filets for 4-6 minutes per side. The filets should easily come off the grill, if they are sticking give them another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Serve: Remove the grilled tilapia from the grill and enjoy!

How to Know When Tilapia is Cooked

You’ll know your fish is cooked through when it’s completely opaque. However, you definitely don’t want to overcook it, or it will become dry. Additionally, you can use a meat thermometer to check and see if it has an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

Tips for Grilling Tilapia

Here are a few things to keep in mind when grilling tilapia. They are simple tips, but will ensure your fish turns out perfect!

  • Serving Options: This dish goes great with rice, couscous and your favorite vegetable side like grilled asparagus!
  • Thaw Filets: If using frozen, be sure they are thawed before you marinate. Thaw overnight in the fridge or place packaged frozen filets in cold water for about 10 minutes.
  • Discard the Marinade: Be sure to discard the used marinade after using.
  • Cook Time: The fillets I used were a little on the thicker side, so about 5 minutes was perfect. If your fillets are thinner, reduce the time.
Close up of grilled tilapia.

How to Store Leftover Tilapia

Although grilled tilapia is best served right away, here’s how to store leftovers to enjoy them later!

  • In the Refrigerator: Once it has cooled, then place it in an airtight container or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap. Put it in your fridge, and your fish will stay good for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: The quickest way to reheat your grilled tilapia is in the air fryer for a couple of minutes at 350 degrees. You can also reheat it over medium heat on the stove with a little melted butter in the pan.

All About Baked Salmon in Foil

Picking good-quality salmon at the grocery store can be intimidating so here is what you need to know! Here are my tips to help you out and to know the differences between salmon at the store.

  • Types of Salmon: Wild, farm, and International are all types of salmon that can be found in stores today. There are a lot of pros and cons so I would highly recommend doing your research. I would recommend avoiding internationally caught or farmed salmon at all costs. They are not regulated like the US and they often use antibiotics, and pesticides that are not allowed in the US. They also often misuse wastewater, potentially contaminating the fish.
  • Cuts of Salmon: Salmon is sold as a whole filet, a small filet, or as salmon cuts. Whole and small filets are the most common and easiest to cook and find. Salmon steaks are U-shaped with part of the spine in the middle.
  • What to Look For In Buying Salmon: When buying fresh salmon, look for glossy and firm-to-touch. Salmon meat should be bright and saturated in color. Do not buy salmon that is chalky, dry, sticky, or too soft to the touch. Avoid salmon that has cracks or breaks in the muscle or collagen sheaths. Fish should smell fresh, clean, and slightly briny like the ocean, never fishy.
  • Fresh vs Frozen: Buy fresh if you are using the fish within 2 days, otherwise stick to frozen. Salmon is often frozen immediately after being caught and preserves the nutrients and freshness.

Tips For Making Baked Parmesan Garlic Herb Salmon in Foil

So juicy and so full of flavor these tips are going to help make an amazing foil salmon! Once you pick your salmon this baked salmon in foil is easy to make and tastes amazing with my parmesan garlic herb butter.

  • Golden Crust: When the salmon is just about done, open the foil and broil for the last 2-3 minutes. This will create a perfect crust on top of the salmon!
  • When is the Salmon Done? The best way to tell if salmon is done is to look at it. The salmon flakes easily when it is finished cooking and it will also change in color from translucent to opaque. The internal temperature should be 135 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Do Not Overcook: It is easy to overcook salmon and then it becomes tough and dry. It is better to undercook it slightly and let it finish cooking as it rests than to overcook it.
  • Using Frozen: I use frozen salmon filets all the time and they work beautifully. Thaw them overnight in the fridge. You can also thaw the salmon in a bowl of cold water that you change every 10-15 minutes till it is thawed.
  • Can I leave the Skin? Yes if your salmon has the skin on, you can leave it on! It has great nutrients. Be sure to rinse your salmon and pat dry with a paper towel before placing the skin side down on the foil.

Storing Leftover Salmon

This baked salmon in foil is great for lunch the next day! The salmon warms up perfectly and the leftovers are still flakey and delicious.

  1. In the Refrigerator: Leftovers can last for up to 3-4 days when stored properly in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  2. To Reheat: When you are ready to eat your leftovers, cooking them up in the air fryer is my favorite way! Reheat them in an air fryer at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 4-5 minutes. It keeps the texture perfectly flaky every time. Alternatively, you can reheat any leftovers in the microwave until warmed through!

Even my youngest approves. And she usually doesn’t like anything but chicken nuggets, so that’s a major win!

Ingredient List

  • Salmon Filet: You’ll need about a pound’s worth of skinless, boneless salmon. Cut it into cubes that are all about the same size so they cook through evenly!
  • Salt and Pepper: Give the salmon its first layer of flavor. Adjust according to your tastes!
  • Soy Sauce: The base of the sauce for the honey glazed salmon bowls. It adds a savory flavor and also keeps the salmon nice and tender. Use low-sodium soy sauce if you don’t want your bowls to turn out too salty. (I used regular soy sauce, but it’s all up to preference!)
  • Honey: For some sticky-sweet goodness!
  • Minced Garlic: Because you can never have too much garlic, especially in these tasty salmon bowls! The fresh garlic helps to balance out the sweetness in the dish for a well-rounded flavor.
The honey glazed salmon ingredients. Listed are: salmon, salt and pepper, honey, soy sauce, and garlic.

Rice Bowls / Assembly

  • Vegetables: I used shredded carrots and broccoli florets, both precooked to save time! I also added some sliced green onions on top of my bowl for extra flavor.
  • Cooked White Rice: To help fill you up! You can also use brown rice or a mix of rice and grains for more fiber.
  • Sesame Seeds: Optional, but I love the extra flavor and texture that sesame seeds add.

Use those leftovers from your fridge!

These honey glazed salmon bowls are perfect for adding leftover veggies to. Whether its corn, peas, or salad greens, throw them in!

Ingredients to assemble the bowls with. Listed are: broccoli, shredded carrots, sesame seeds, green onion, and rice

How to Make Honey Glazed Salmon Bowls

The salmon only takes 6 minutes to cook, but 15 minutes to marinate. So use that time to assemble your bowl and steam any veggies if necessary!

Preparing the Salmon

Tips and Tricks

A few ways to help you perfect these honey glazed salmon bowls and make them just the way you like!

  • Low-Carb/Keto-Friendly: This is a great option for low-carb diets! Simply swap your white rice for zucchini noodles or a bed of lettuce.
  • Add Spice: Add a drizzle of sriracha, sriracha mayo, or some red pepper flakes for heat!
  • More Veggies: Add sugar snap peas, edamame, sliced avocado, bamboo shoots, corn, spinach… the list goes on and on! Anything works here! The flavor of the salmon is super versatile.

Cooking the Salmon Bites On the Stove

If you don’t have an air fryer or just prefer to cook your salmon in a skillet instead, here’s how!

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated salmon bites to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 125-130 degrees Fahrenheit. Since the salmon pieces are small, they should cook through relatively quickly. Be sure to keep an eye on them so they don’t burn! Enjoy!

Storing Leftover Salmon Bowls + Meal Prep

To store leftover honey glazed salmon bowls, let everything cool completely first. Then, divide the mixture into separate meal prep containers with airtight lids. This will prevent moisture buildup and loss of flavor. In the fridge, your prepped bowls will stay fresh and delicious for up to 4 days. If you’d like to enjoy them later in the week, consider freezing them. Simply store the cooled mixture in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months.

When you’re ready to eat, thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave! You can also reheat the salmon in the air fryer for about 5 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
